Lee Priest has been a controversial name in the world of Bodybuilding, and for a very good reason. In 2006, Lee Priest received a 1-year ban and after a few changes, the IFBB considered that he should receive a lifetime ban. Receiving a lifetime ban from the IFBB
Lee Priest is very popular within the bodybuilding community because he is known as the “no bullshit” person. He says things the way they are, which combined with the fact that he is outspoken did end up bringing him quite a lot of trouble. A lot of people think that his comments are the ones that brought this ban, yet it seems that’s not the case.
Apparently, honesty is not what the IFBB punished. Instead, Priest was punished because he broke his contract multiple times. He broke a contract when he competed in another league, and he also didn’t appear at committed events. This was not a singular incident, and that end up being problematic for him in the long run. Multiple breaches of contract forced the IFBB to issue a ban, which was initially just for a year. But after multiple developments, they ended up changing it to a lifetime ban.
Will this ban end up being removed?
While there was a 1-year ban, the IFBB did end up welcoming him back and he was scheduled for multiple events. But Lee Priest didn’t appear to compete in any of them, and instead he blew them off. When that happened, the IFBB went with the lifetime ban and that’s why we think this ban is indeed permanent. The IFBB did offer him a second chance, but that was pushed down the drain, so to speak.
Lee Priest is still a part of the bodybuilding world, he is a part of multiple businesses within the industry and he also appears on many podcasts.
